Happy Hanukkah!
I tried to put my new electric menorah in the window, but the sills are all too narrow. Boo. Also, saying prayers over an electric menorah feels pretty silly. I miss the smell of lit matches that signifies Hanukkah to me.
I have been enjoying my Hanukkah present Holga though!! I'm almost done with my first roll of film.
I love your electric menorah! My parents had a big old white plastic model that they used to put in the window every year when I was a kid. I loved turning the bulbs each night.
ReplyDeletemy parents have one of those too! but it was a more recent addition, like maybe when i was in college. they don't seem to sell the plastic ones anymore--this sturdy metal one set me back 40 bucks at target.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, why the switch to electric? Oh, I bet actual candles would be a fire hazard now that you've got Mr. Bond. You're a smarty!
ReplyDeleteyes, that's exactly why! he's way too curious/mischievous and i don't want him setting the house on fire (although i almsot set the house on fire myself a couple weeks ago, but that's a totally seperate issue).
