OK, OK, after several years of thinking about it, I finally joined Library Thing and started listing my books. I'm listed under "wordnerdy" so if you're on it, add me as a contact! I look forward to perusing your libraries as I keep adding books to mine.
All I want to know: DID YOU BUY THE CUECAT?!

Talk about your fuzzy memories: I *think* I actually owned one, and monkeyed around with it for about ten minutes before deciding that I wasn't going to be scanning things in periodicals just so I could quickly get to some web page or another.
LibraryThing says they bought just 100 cuecats. But any article in the press about LibraryThing mentions the cuecats, so I wonder if this is one of those asymmetries between (a) the thing everyone ("in the know") finds interesting to read about but (b) doesn't actually use/buy.
No, and I'd never even heard of Cuecats till you linked that!
ReplyDeleteI do know or know of people who bought library scanners to scan their books into librarything or similar programs, but they were just regular scanners, not cat-shaped ones.
