Laura Weymouth’s The Castle & The Cloister
Oh, this is exactly the sort of fantasy I like—lots of political machinations AND cool religions! The main characters are a young mother, a postulant who serves the sun goddess; the Priest of the other religion and brother of the king; and the young queen who is caught between both worlds. Really enjoyable story, great characters, I cannot wait for book two. A/A-.
