Of course my first thought was, I wish she had moved the camera to the right a little so I could see the bookcase better. ;)

I notice a lot of Robertson Davies in your list of the first 55 books you read this year; any recommendations of a good place to start reading him? I haven't read anything of his.

hehe, most of my bookshelves are on the wall to the right of my computer and next to my desk--that one behind me is the lonely one. :) i'll take some pictures and post them sometime, maybe . . . if i clean my office soon.

as for robertson davies--i have a feeling that you'd like the cornish trilogy as a starting point (the rebel angels et al). they poke a little bit of fun at academia, but the characters are all lovably eccentric.

Thanks! And only 1100 pages. I'll get right on it. :)

Having read things like Straight Man, Moo, Blue Angel, and Lucky Jim, I'm clearly up for a little fun at academia's expense. It's only a slightly less ridiculous place to work than corporate America.
