i'm pretty sure the few miyazaki fans who read this blog are also regular tcm watchers, but in case you aren't, let me alert you to the fact that miyazaki month on tcm begins tonight, with spirited away and princess mononoke. it looks like every thursday this month will have miyazaki flicks (and hopefully they'll be rerun at other times too). notes to self: my neighbor totoro is on the 19th! two you've never seen are on the 26th! suddenly i'm glad that i randomly bought blank vhs tapes at the supermarket a couple of weeks ago.
sorry for the lack of book postings: i actually haven't read at all in a few days, as nothing in my to-read pile is appealing to me, and i've been busy spinning and knitting anyway.

i vaguely recall that some will be shown subbed and some dubbed, but i have no ideas which are which . . .
totoro comes out on dvd (a two-disc set!) sometime soon. yay!
and thanks for commenting--i'm glad someone is reading/being alerted to things by my blog. :)
that's so cool! I'll have to set the DVR!
yeah, i'm really psyched to see some of the ones i've never seen--and some of the ones i know i adore. :)
i thought I was all up on miyazaki, and i've never seen the last three - go figure!
you can NEVER see the catbus too many times!!!! I was not aware of this marathon, but will tune in! (MIke)
pinky--i've never seen the last three either, but they're not technically miyazaki movies--he wrote the first one and produced the other two (pom poko is apparently by the guy who did grave of the fireflies, whcih is by far the most depressing movie i have ever seen).
mike--i know!!! i think i'm going to tape it to tide me over until the dvd comes out. :) indie rock miyazaki note: apparently mac from superchunk's daughter was a totoro for halloween!
i know!! i've been dying to see pictures. :)
good to know! i'd already stayed up too late to watch both movies, so i went to bed before the second showing--obviously a poor choice!
Thanks for the heads up. I have most of the DVDs, but I've never even heard of Only Yesterday. Looking forward to it.
Did you hear Ghibli's tapped to produce an Earthsea movie?
Alex.
