rachel cusk's the lucky ones
wow, book 50 already! this calls for a celebration--when finals week is over and i have time for a celebration. :) anyway--although this novel is stylistically very different than the country life (it contains a series of interconnected stories), the same theme of troubled families struggling to work themselves out remains. her characters are richly drawn and vivid; many of them are trying to figure out their newfound parenthood and how having children affects the other parts of their lives. eh, i don't have much else to say about this right now--i liked it a lot but i need to get back to working on final projects now. :)
