Here's a somewhat entertaining video of what those crime scene shows would be like without writers (I find it especially entertaining b/c I just started watching Oz and like half those dudes were in it. Also, I secretly love Law and Order: CI).
i'm with you that CI's probably the best of the law and order series. it's too bad, though, that the relatively awful writing on that series (in relation to other crime shows like "oz" and "the wire") really limit what the actors can do. i'm always struck when i see an actor who's on "the wire" playing some character on one of the "law and order" shows--waste of talent. ironic that the best acting from this troupe comes on this video where they're just improvising.
AMPTP - Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers--they're the bargaining unit for the production companies/studios. You know, the douches who won't just give the writers a percentage of the internet profits and let us have our tv shows back! I mean, dammit, I have a video ipod and I want to download shows! But the writers should have my money! They're clearly the ones who make me laugh. In conclusion, the studios suck.
I totally agree that L&O has absolutely ridiculous writing, but I love watching Vincent D'Onofrio chewing the scenery. Did you know he's Thor from Adventures in Babysitting? I totally freaked when I found out. Too awesome.
THIS IS THE BEST THING OF ALL TIME. You are awesome. It's extra funny that I am watching CI right this very second! The D'Onof is lookin' a little bloated this season; hope he's doing okay. And dammit! I wish they would settle this business because they're taking away my Lost and I think I'm gonna need some sort of rehab program. Love you!
