top chef

Ugh! I hope they decide no one should be Top Chef! An unlikable final four has been winnowed to an absolutely unbearable top two. What a crock--neither deserves the title.

Agreed! At least I was sort of rooting for Sam, I went to high school with him, but then that whole "Marcel was cheating" bit was so obnoxious.

Yeah, Sam was sort of the most palatable of the four, even though he's sort of been an instigating jerk throughout the competition. That's so random that you went to high school with him! Were there signs he'd grown up to be New York's sexiest chef (or whatever it is that he is)?

I was rooting for Elia up until last week, and she was even worse last night. I can't get over the final two though--I really don't want either to win. I really don't want Ilan to beat Marcel, but Marcel is pretty lame and shouldn't win either.

Remember last year when the final four were all talented and three of them were actually likable (even thoguh Dave was a crybaby)? Those were the days.

I agree too. I really thought it would be Sam and Elia, but I was 100% wrong. At this point I'm sort of pulling for Marcel because of how everyone's treated him (not that he is blameless, but still). The whining at the judge's table last night was the last straw for me, and I really don't care about the outcome anymore.

I'm looking forward to Top Design being more engaging and fun than Top Chef has been for me. Woo Todd Oldham!

And the food looked better last year! Even though Dave was a crybaby, and I wanted to punch that woman (whatever her name was)both of their food looked like it tasted great. This year, I feel like its been hit or miss on the good food.

Yeah, Elia turned into a sore loser, VERY QUICKLY. And wasn't it weird to have them sneak in her swimming career there at the end?

Sam was a year younger than me, and I just remember him as a VERY tall jock. He played basketball. I think he dated a girl in my class, which was considered SO CRAZY because usually it was the girls dating the older guys, not the other way around.

I'll have to find my yearbook.

minty--i kept thinking "oh, i won't watch top design, b/c that's so random!" but i'm actually very interested in interiors lately (i like to imagine my dream kitchen) so probably will end up watching.

elizabeth--i totally agree. the contestants were, for the most part, a lot stronger last year. hilarious to hear about high-school sam! is it weird to see him in that context? i got all discombobulated when a girl i went to elementary school guest-starred on scrubs!
